When I think about attending startup events, I think about travelling, and getting to see new places, meet new people, and bond with them. Luckily, there are some great events happening in some of the best cities in the world. The only thing that’s left for me to do is choose my destination, and book my ticket. If money and time allowed me, I would spend a few months travelling around the globe, attending startup events, and then write a book about it. Well, maybe some day.
Let’s see, what are some of the greatest places in the world where you can enjoy your trip both personally and professionally wise?
Oh, yes! New York, the city that never sleeps. It’s my number one pick, and I’m pretty sure it’s yours too (unless you live there). New York is a frenetic city, and I bet there is a startup event happening there every week. If you come to New York all the way from Europe, you should make your time worth there. Take a selfie in Times Square, discover the nightlife, work for a few hours in a Starbucks, like any other new yorker would do, and get lost among the sky high buildings, and colorful billboards. When I was little, I wanted to move to New York. But what did I know back then? Soon enough, I realized that it could be too much for me. Nevertheless, I look forward to the day we’re going to meet.
There are startup events in Paris, too. Paris, known as the city of love (and lights), can be a great opportunity for you and your significant other to combine business with pleasure. It’s a great place to be, especially if you’re both passionate about the startup world. That way, she/he won’t get bored while you’re off meeting entrepreneurs, and investors. And then, after you’re done dealing with startup events, you can enjoy the romance Paris has to offer.

Barcelona, the second largest city of Spain expresses the beauty of architecture. Gaudi’s famous Sagrada Familia it’s a must to visit while you’re there. You can also discover the modern art by taking a walk in the park. Who hasn’t heard about La Rambla? A friend of mine is absolutely obsessed with this street. It’s like a street made for tourists, where you can find anything from yummy ice cream, to souvenirs you can buy for your loved ones. While you’re here, you definitely need to go to a restaurant, and eat their sea food. Everything is fresh here, since the Mediterranean Sea is right around the corner. Over four kilometers of beach wait for you to come and lay down your towel, while you sunbath.
What would your ideal place to visit be, while you’re attending startup events?
As I said before, business without fun is like eating tasteless food. We should have fun every time we go to startup events, and make the most of this experience. Also, you can go sight seeing with the people you’ve met there, making it easier for you to bond with them and create a connection.
Where would you like to go to a startup event? What is one city you always wanted to visit?
