When starting to organize a wedding, you usually try to plan into detail every single thing: the flowers, the wedding gown, the venue, the guests, everything. But whenever you are planning, one of the most important things you are taking into consideration are the wedding costs. But, unfortunately, sometimes, everything may not go as planned, and you might have to pay more than expected at the beginning. Here are some things that might add more to your budget:

Table/Chair/Place Setting Rentals

You paid the fee for the reception, but have you ever consider the fact that might just offer you the space and not the settings? Well, in this case, you are going to need to provide your own. And, of course, you’d want something classy or at least in theme with your vision. Oh well, event rentals in major metropolitan areas can run anywhere from $3 to $22 per chair. Same goes with tables, linens, place settings, and glasses. Yep, this might change the course of your wedding costs a little.

Therefore, before choosing a venue that offers just the basics, make sure it actually fits with your style. It is highly recommended to find a space that fits into your vision and offers settings, too, even though your wedding costs will increase.

Wedding Dress Alteration

Unfortunately, there are a few brides who can consider themselves lucky for finding the perfect dress for the first time. But, before thinking on tightening the belt, remember that this isn’t the usual wedding shopping spree.  The dress you will wear has to be perfect. Therefore, to make it fit you, you have to make alterations. They usually cost more in bridal salons, so you need to increase your original wedding costs when thinking about gown.

Make-up and hairdo are two things a future bride cannot overlook. You have to look perfect, but before you choose the perfect shades and hair style, you have to remember you should have a trial run. So, when calculating this issue on your wedding costs, make sure you include the trial as well.

Cake Cutting Fee

Yep, they will charge you for having your cake cut and served. If you choose a cake that the reception hall provides, the feel will be included. If it’s brought from the outside, you might be charged, because the staff has to cut, serve, and wash the dishes. This service can cost from two to five dollars per guest. So, don’t forget to add this possibility in your wedding costs.

Overtime Wedding Costs

When hiring a DJ, a band, or a photographer, you might pay them for a certain amount of time. If the reception or the ceremony takes a little longer than expected, you might have to pay them extra, for the amount of hours they spent overtime. So, don’t forget to add a few extra dollars in your budget when thinking about this.

Non-Approved Professionals

Some venues require you use their caterers or their florists. Otherwise, you will have to pay a fee. So, you could stick with the venue and choose your own professionals, but don’t forget to add another amount of fee in your wedding costs. If you don’t want to pay it, choose another venue. Don’t worry, you will find something good.

These are some of the costs you might not be aware of. So, before making a budget plan, try to take these things into consideration 🙂
