Let’s face it… Building a business is tough. From finding the money to get the business going, to buying the tools that really bring results, and to dealing with nasty competitors that don’t play fair, there are many things to manage. Especially when your business grows, and you also need to hire new employees.
While this is not an MBA course, I still have to point out that management styles are very different, and the way in which a company chooses to deal with problems and opportunities is different from the way another company gets things done.
At Squirrly, we try to be as transparent as possible with you and show you what kind of company we wish to build. That’s why we’ve prepared the Core Values of Squirrly UK to be publicly displayed.
It will make it easier for you to figure out if you wish to collaborate with us, and if you think we’re worth your time.
These are the values that really stuck with us from the time we first started working on our wordpress seo plugin and are what truly guide our team. Also, based on these values we made all the hires. Something good we learned from Zappos.com 🙂 They have their values, we have ours, of course, but from Zappos we saw how important it is to have the whole team aligned to the same values.
1 ALWAYS WIN BY HELPING OTHERS WIN
2 DELIVER HAPPINESS TO EMPLOYEES, CUSTOMERS, PARTNERS AND INVESTORS
3 HAVE FUN. BE CREATIVE. BE INSPIRING.
4 STRIVE FOR EXCELLENCE IN CUSTOMER SERVICE
6 BE HUMBLE, ADMIT WE CAN BE WRONG.
7 BE HUMAN
8 PURSUE ONLY THE 20% THAT BRINGS THE 80%.
Some of you have already experienced some of these values and the effects they have on our team, from the way we exchanged messages, fixed your problems, helped you with internet marketing, etc. And also, we’re open to getting to know you, as you saw in the pizza messages you get from me when you’re attending my coaching session. I like to email a few students almost every day and check their progress, see if they need extra help. We love it when any of our students reach out to us.
Yes, you see.. even a company that builds a wordpress seo plugin needs to live by Core Values, if they are to deliver excellence.
What’s your experience with Core Values? Do you integrate them in your business? Was any company where you worked guided by Company Culture and Values?
