Free to PRO: A short guide

Started a Squirrly PRO account using a different email? This Guide will help you fix this problem.

How this happened:

When you purchased the PRO version, you used a different email address than the one you used to first log in to your Free Squirrly account. 

Therefore, your WordPress site is still associated with the initial email address – NOT the one you are currently using with your PRO account.

This guide will help you Easily fix it. Don’t worry, all the SEO settings you’ve made while using the Free version will be safe. 

How to Fix it in 5 Easy Steps:

  • Step 1: Back-up Your Squirrly Settings

– In your Squirrly Overview, click on SEO Configuration.

– Click on Import & Data.

– From the Backup Settings & SEO section, click on Download Backup for Settings.

– A SQL file containing your Squirrly settings will automatically download.

  • Step 2: Back-up all the Pages Optimized with Squirrly SEO

– Just below the Backup Settings field, you’ll find a Download Backup Button for SEO.

– Click on it, and a SQL file with all the saved Squirrly SEO Snippet optimizations will automatically download.

  • Step 3: Delete Squirrly from Your Site (Don’t Worry, Your Settings Are Safe)

– Head over to SEO Configuration > Tweaks & Sitemaps.

– Make sure you are on the SEO Expert mode so you can see the Advanced Settings section.

– From the Advanced Settings section, activate Delete Squirrly Table on Uninstall and click on Save Settings.

– Head over to WordPress -> Plugins.

– Find Squirrly SEO in that list.

– Deactivate it.

– Finally, delete Squirrly.

  • Step 4: Re-install Squirrly

– Go to WordPress -> Plugins -> Add New.

– Search for Squirrly.

– In the “SEO Plugin by Squirrly SEO” box, click on Install Now and Activate.

– Here I have my Free account email: me@florinmuresan.com

– What I want is the florinmuresan.com@gmail .com email, the one I used to buy the PRO Version.

– I’m using that one to connect.

  • Step 5: Restore Squirrly Setting and SEO

– In your Squirrly Overview, click on SEO Configuration.

– Click on Import & Data.

– From the Restore Settings & SEO section, click on Choose File, upload the SQL file with the saved Squirrly settings, and click on Restore Settings.

– Then, click on Choose File, upload the SQL file with the saved Squirrly SEO Snippet optimizations, and click on Restore SEO.

Done! You’ve successfully completed the 5-step process! You now have the PRO version inside of your website. And you also get to have your SEO settings back.
