Upgrading from a Free Squirrly SEO account to a PRO account? Let’s make sure you do it the right way — and avoid losing any of your SEO work and data.
Before you start working inside your PRO account, read this guide carefully. Mistakes can lead to data loss — and we don’t want that for you.
If you upgraded from FREE to PRO using the same email address → You’re golden!
You don’t need to do anything.
The upgrade happens automatically. Both the Squirrly SEO plugin in WordPress and the Cloud App will recognize your new PRO status — and all your data from the Free account will carry over seamlessly.
How this happened: When you purchased the PRO version, you used a different email address than the one you used to first log in to your Free Squirrly account.
Therefore, your site is still associated with the initial email address – NOT the one you are currently using with your PRO account.
Each account (Free or PRO) stores separate data: including Focus Pages, SEO Audit Pages Audits, Keyword Labels, etc. If you start working in the new PRO account, we can’t merge the data later. One set of SEO data will be lost forever.
What to do instead:
Let us know you want to merge the Free and PRO accounts. We’ll take care of it for you.
If you have two separate accounts under different email addresses, you can try using backups to manually move some data from one account to the other.
This method is only recommended as a last resort.
In your Squirrly Overview, click on Technical SEO.

Click on it, and a SQL file with all the saved Squirrly SEO Snippet optimizations will automatically download.
In your Squirrly Overview, click on Technical SEO.
Click on Import & Data.
From the Restore Settings & SEO section, click on Choose File, upload the SQL file with the saved Squirrly settings, and click on Restore Settings.
