I have to admit, I’m not particularly proud of this habit of mine:
Every year, when the calendar flips to January, I create this grand list of goals for myself, filled with enthusiasm and ambition.
But as the months pass by, my motivation starts to dwindle, and I find myself easily distracted, losing sight of those goals I set for myself.
What about you?
Are you currently on track to accomplish what you initially set out to achieve this year?
If you’re not sure, taking a moment to do a mid-year goals check-in can be incredibly helpful in assessing your progress.
This simple exercise can provide precious insight into how far you’ve come and what adjustments you may need to make.
To guide you through this process, here are six essential questions to ask yourself:
1. “What were my original goals for this year?”
Recall the aspirations and objectives you had in mind when the year began.
Remind yourself of the vision you had for your future.
2. “What progress have I made so far?”
Take stock of the strides you’ve already made toward your goals.
Recognize and celebrate the small victories along the way.
3. “What obstacles have I encountered?”
It’s crucial to acknowledge the hurdles and challenges that have come your way.
Understanding these obstacles will enable you to develop strategies to overcome them.
4. “What adjustments can I make to overcome those obstacles?”
Identify the necessary adjustments or changes you can implement to surmount the obstacles you’ve faced.
Adaptability is key in navigating the ever-changing landscape of personal and professional growth.
5. “Are my goals still aligned with my values?”
Reconnect with your core values and assess whether your goals are still in alignment with them.
If there’s a disconnect, it may be time to recalibrate your goals to better reflect who you are and what you truly want.
6. “What steps can I take for the rest of the year?”
Break down your goals into manageable and actionable tasks.
By creating a clear roadmap, you’ll have a better sense of direction and a plan to follow.
