Celebrate 3 New G2 Awards With Us and See What’s New in Squirrly SEO

It’s award season. 🎬 Not quite the Oscars. No red carpet, no acceptance speeches, and sadly, nobody has handed us a tiny golden statue. But we do have three new G2 awards to celebrate.

Squirrly SEO has been recognized as a High Performer in the Fall 2026 G2 Awards across three different reports, and of course, we’re sharing the win with you.

Because unlike the Oscars, where a room full of people in very fancy clothes decides who takes home a statue, G2 awards are based on what customers say about the products they use.

So these badges have a lot of people behind them. People who use Squirrly SEO and took the time to review it.

That makes these awards feel pretty special to us.

So, before we get into anything else, let’s take a moment to celebrate them. ❤️

🍂 Squirrly SEO Earns 3 New G2 Awards for Fall 2026

  1. High Performer: Products in the High Performer quadrant in the United Kingdom Regional Grid® Report have high customer Satisfaction scores compared to the rest of the category.
  2. High Performer Small-Business: Products in the High Performer quadrant in the Small-Business Grid® Report have high customer Satisfaction scores compared to the rest of the category.
  3. High Performer: Products in the High Performer quadrant in the Grid® Report have high customer Satisfaction scores compared to the rest of the category.

Three new awards. Three very good reasons to say thank you to everyone who has shared their experience with Squirrly SEO.

But there’s more to the Squirrly SEO story this fall.

The Good News Doesn’t Stop There

While the awards are a lovely thing to celebrate, we haven’t exactly been sitting around admiring the badges because we’ve been busy making Squirrly SEO better for you.

The latest updates bring some useful improvements to structured data and internal linking, plus something we’re particularly excited about: You can now connect Squirrly SEO to AI Assistants.

So let’s start with that.

UPDATE: You Can Now Connect Squirrly SEO to AI Assistants

Want Claude or OpenAI Codex to be able to read and update your SEO directly from your site? Squirrly SEO can now work with AI Assistants as a connector directly from your WordPress site.

And getting started is deliberately simple.

Go to the new AI Tools screen under Technical SEO, turn on the connector, copy the connector address it gives you, paste it into your AI Assistant, and approve the connection on your own site.

Full Knowledge Base tutorial here: See how to connect Squirrly SEO to AI Assistants →

  • No separate program to install on your computer.
  • No Application Password to create manually.
  • And nothing is exposed until you turn the connection on and approve it.

The access also follows the WordPress permissions of the user who approves the connection. So the assistant can only do what that WordPress user is allowed to do.

And if you decide you don’t want the connection anymore, you can cut off access from either side. In the assistant, open the connector and click Disconnect. In WordPress, go to Users > Profile, find the Application Password created for it, and revoke it

Structured Data Improvements

Version 14.2.4 also brought a series of refinements to the way Squirrly SEO creates and publishes structured data.

  • Fix: The WebSite structured data now publishes your WordPress Site Title as the name of your site – the short name Google shows above your search results – instead of the SEO title of the home page. The SEO title is a sentence written for the search result and was being cut short when Google read it as the site name.
  • Fix: The home page SEO title and meta description are now published in the JSON-LD properties they belong in – headline and description – instead of the description being published as the headline.
  • Fix: Company and personal brand names containing characters such as “&” are no longer published with the HTML entity inside the structured data.

Updates to Rich Snippets

  • Fix: The Rich Snippets settings now describe correctly what is published when the company or personal brand name is left empty.
  • Fix: The description in your Rich Snippets Schema now follows the Meta Description you wrote for the page, instead of falling back to the raw page content. The {{excerpt}} pattern in a Schema field behaves like the {{title}} pattern already did with your SEO title, so an optimised Meta Description no longer has to be copied into the Rich Snippets by hand and kept in sync there.
  • Fix: The headline in your Rich Snippets Schema no longer repeats your site name when the Automation title pattern already ends with it – “Post Title | Site Name | Site Name” is now published as “Post Title | Site Name”.

Inner Links Suggestions Fix

There was also a slightly annoying issue with the Inner Links suggestions that we’ve now fixed.

Starting with the 14.2.4 version, the Inner Links suggestions no longer include WordPress menu items. Menu items are stored as posts and have an address of their own, but that address is not a real page and returns a ‘not found’ response when opened, so they were being suggested as pages to link to, and then reported as broken links in the Inspect report.

Better SEO Without the Extra Guesswork

That’s what these updates are really about.

Making the technical parts of SEO work the way they should. Making it easier to connect your SEO tools to the AI tools you’re already using.

And giving you better control over what your site actually tells search engines.

The three new G2 awards are a pretty nice bonus on top of that.

And, of course, we couldn’t have done it without the people using Squirrly SEO and taking the time to tell us what they think.

Thank you. ❤️

If Squirrly SEO has helped you with your SEO work, we’d love to hear about your experience.
